Developing Singapore's First Integrated Resort

In 2006, Genting Singapore was awarded the licence to develop one of Singapore's Integrated Resorts (IR), a concept introduced by the government to boost tourism through iconic developments offering a comprehensive range of amenities. Through strategic collaboration with the government, joint infrastructure development, and strong community partnerships, Genting Singapore exceeded expectations. <br><br> Construction began in April 2007 and was completed in just 34 months. In January 2010, our flagship IR project, Resorts World Sentosa (RWS), became the first integrated resort to open in Singapore. By 2019, the resort had played a pivotal role in increasing Singapore’s international visitor arrivals to 19.1 million and tourism receipts to S$27.7 billion – far surpassing the initial goal of doubling the 8.5 million visitors from 2005. <br><br> Today, we continue to redefine destination experiences that inspire and connect, leveraging Singapore’s position as a global hub for business, aviation, and entertainment. With sustainability and innovation at the heart of our vision, we are shaping a future where tourism uplifts economies, enriches communities, and contributes positively to our shared environment.
