Water Management

RWS actively taps on alternative water sources, including NEWater, rainwater, seawater, and reclaimed water, to support our operations and reduce reliance on potable water. Together, these sources account for 54% of RWS’ total water consumption in 2025.

Renewable Energy

In 2025, we further strengthened our renewable energy portfolio through the continued expansion of our on-site solar photovoltaic (PV) network across the resort. Following the successful commissioning of new PV installations at four key locations – Illumination’s Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore, Singapore Oceanarium, Research and Learning Centre, and The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort – our cumulative installed solar capacity is now more than four times that of 2022. Collectively, these solar installations generate approximately 3.5 GWh of clean electricity annually, equivalent to the energy needed to power approximately 770 four-room HDB flats.

Sustainable Buildings

Sustainability is integral to the design and operations of RWS, guiding everything from initial planning to ongoing upgrades. We have pledged to green 75% of our gross floor area (GFA) by 2030 and continue to integrate sustainable design principles across our developments, including passive and active design strategies. We also proactively seek out and adopt new green building innovations and solutions, such as implementing Singapore’s first large-scale cloud-based Building Management System.

Currently, a total of 14 buildings across RWS have achieved BCA Green Mark GoldPlus or higher certifications, covering 70% of our buildings by GFA. Most recently, Illumination’s Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore and the Research and Learning Centre attained the prestigious BCA Green Mark Platinum Zero Energy Building certification. In addition, WEAVE was awarded Green Mark Platinum, while The Laurus, a Luxury Collection Resort, achieved Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy. These efforts reflect our commitment to meeting Singapore’s highest sustainable building standards, with 75% of RWS’ GFA dedicated to green buildings.

Biodiversity Conservation

Resorts World Sentosa is deeply committed to environmental stewardship, striving to minimise our ecological footprint while championing conservation efforts. Recognising the vital role of biodiversity in sustaining healthy ecosystems, we actively preserve and monitor our 2.9-hectare coastal forest, carry out marine biodiversity conservation initiatives within our aquarium and beyond, and engage the public through education and outreach. We also foster strategic partnerships to support and enable impactful research and conservation projects.
